Recently, two members of this forum started a company dedicated to the manufacture of effecient VAWTs. They also have posted a useful calculator for determining real, rather than sales inspired expectations with regard to generator output. See

Ed Lenz has worked tirelessly contributing to the education of people interested in wind generators. For real hands-on practical demonstrations, see:
