I forgot. What are the dimensions of the chord, height and diameter of the turbine?

I was kind of out of life and now that I'm back on the internet I've seen your assignment. Let me get home and I'll make a basic model.

Do you need just the blades? In which format do you prefer to have it?

Regards,

I don't know.  That is just a command in SolidWorks.

Not a problem. Just use the "shell" command. :-)

i was thinking, evidently when you make a model to be printable, you need to think about the 'inside' of the blades. you should make them hollow but structuraly strong enough, fe 3-5mm thick and internal supports.

More recent 3D CAD packages allow for helical extrusions.  I've had pretty good results using just 60 data points for a blade, 90 should be plenty for something to be pretty.  You then take that profile and sweep it along a helical path.  To get the new profile, I imagine you would create a plane perpendicular to the helical path and slice the solid.

ok i have the following problem...

the description of the assignment is in the pdf

and the 3D model is in the wrl file

just discuss how you could do this ? Don't feel obliged

i have no problems to create an naca2420 airfoil in cad, just import the coordiantes files, but i don't get it how i can make it helicoidal ?
